Pelvic Floor Dysfunction (Mano): Symptoms, Causes & Relief
Mano (also called "hypertonic pelvic floor dysfunction") is a condition characterized by excessive tension and tightness of the pelvic floor muscles, which often leads to pain and difficulty with bowel movements and/or urination. Symptoms may include:
* Pain in the rectum, genitals, or lower abdomen
* Difficulty in starting or maintaining a urine stream
* Incomplete bladder emptying
* A feeling of incomplete bowel movements
* Constipation, straining, or hard stools
* Pain during bowel movements or urination
* Sexual dysfunction, such as discomfort or pain during sex
