Talking to Your Dad About Tampons: A Guide for 11-Year-Olds
Here are a few things you could say to try to convince your dad:- Explain to your dad that you are mature enough to handle using a tampon. You can tell him that you have done your research and that you understand how to properly insert and remove a tampon.
- Emphasize the benefits of using a tampon while swimming. Tell your dad that tampons will allow you to swim without worrying about leaking or having to change your menstrual product.
- You could also try talking to your dad about the fact that other girls your age use tampons. This might help him to see that it is a normal and accepted practice.
- If your dad is still hesitant, you could suggest that you go to a doctor or nurse together so that you can get their professional opinion on whether or not you are ready to use tampons.
