Boost Facial Hair Growth: Causes, Treatments & Options
For some people, facial hair grows in slowly or not at all. There are options to increase the growth of hair or give the appearance of more facial hair. Over-the-counter applications and testosterone treatments can help increase facial hair for some individuals. But they do not work for everyone. Ultimately, some people are not able to increase facial hair.
Instructions
Visit your physician. Tell your doctor that you would like to grow facial hair.
Get a testosterone test. A testosterone test determines if your levels are low and if you should consider testosterone treatment. Make sure you and your doctor understand the side effects of the treatment. These side effects can include uncontrollable anger and shrinking of the testicles.
Take B12 vitamins daily. B12 promotes oxygenation in the body and helps hair follicles acquire the oxygen needed to grow; it's not a guarantee but good for your health.
Shave twice a day. Frequent shaving is another means of growing facial hair. Shaving more often can cause hair to grow back more coarse and appear thicker.
