Nikken Optimizer: Pi Water Filtration System - Features & Claims
Nikken is a health and wellness company that sells a variety of products, ranging from magnetic insoles to skin cream to the Nikken Optimizer. The Optimizer is a Pi Water (or PIMag Water) filtration system.-
Identification
-
The Nikken Optimizer (and Optimizer II) are filtration systems that look like fruit juicers. Nikken claims that the Optimizer system converts regular water to 'life-enhancing' Pi Water, which is supposedly more oxygenated and 'stimulated' than tap water and other filtered water. These claims have been widely refuted.
Function
-
Nikken says that the Optimizer system uses a combination of a vortex, electromagnetic fields and ceramic materials that emit 'FIR' energy to stimulate the water. This combination of techniques is supposed to be the same as that used in nature to create healthy water, free of pollutants and other contaminants.
Warning
-
The Optimizer system has been criticized for the false, misleading and pseudo-scientific claims made in its promotional literature. A prominent expose was published in China's, "The Standard" newspaper in 2006 discounting many of the claims made about the Optimizer and about Pi and PIMag water in general. Nikken no longer sells the product directly. Nikken is a Japanese company, though they do not list a mailing address on their website.
