Planned Parenthood Patients: Demographics, Services & Funding

Planned Parenthood serves a diverse group of patients. The majority of them are women or genderqueer people of lower to moderate incomes seeking sexual and reproductive services. Around 60% of its patients rely on government programs as their method of payment which can include state subsidized healthcare such as Medicaid, federal programs like Medicare for the aging poor and disabled or government backed private insurers. Planned Parenthood offers various services such as STD prevention and screening, contraceptive methods and counseling, pregnancy counseling, abortion procedures, preventive wellness programs and general healthcare in underserved regions.
