How to Use Mercilon to Skip a Period
Many women choose to take birth control pills as a form of contraceptive. Mercilon is a type of birth control pill that is prescribed by a doctor. Each pack of pills contains 21 regular pills and seven placebo pills. Occasionally, a woman might choose to skip the placebo pills and start a new pack right away to prevent having her period. It is easy to use Mercilon to skip a period, but you should always check with your doctor first before doing so.Things You'll Need
- Mercilon
Instructions
Take your Mercilon as prescribed. Make sure to take each of the 21 white pills at the same time every day. If you miss a pill, follow the instructions that came with your prescription.
Do not take the seven placebo pills. To skip your period, throw away your pill pack after you take the last of the 21 regular pills and start a new pack instead of taking the placebo pills. This will prevent the normal withdrawal bleeding from occurring. Some women might notice some spotting when they skip the placebo pills.
Take the rest of the new pill pack as normal. When you finish the 21 regular pills, you can decide whether or not to take the placebo pills or start a new pack to skip your period again. It is not advised to skip the placebo pills for more than three consecutive packs unless it is recommended by your doctor.
