How to Read an Exergen Thermometer
The intended use of the Exergen thermometer is in babies and children, and it can be used while the subject is sleeping; however, it is effective for use by all members of the family. It is a substitute for taking temperature through the ear, which can be difficult in children with an ear infection. The Exergen thermometer has been proven more accurate than ear temperature sensors in a study conducted by Harvard Medical School.Things You'll Need
- Exergen thermometer
- Cotton swab
- Rubbing alcohol
Instructions
Swab the lens of the Exergen thermometer with alcohol and let dry.
Press the sensor against the center of the forehead. Press and hold the "SCAN" button.
Slide the sensor across the forehead towards the hairline being sure to keep the sensor flat until there is a beep and a red light.
Release the scan button, and read the temperature on the display.
