Baby Swallowed Isopropyl Alcohol? Immediate Action & What to Do
Immediately call the Poison Control Center at 1-800-222-1222.
Here are some additional steps you can take while you wait for help to arrive:
1. Do not induce vomiting. This could make the situation worse.
2. Give the baby a small amount of milk or water to drink. This can help to dilute the alcohol and reduce the risk of aspiration (inhaling the alcohol into the lungs).
3. Keep the baby warm and comfortable. Isopropyl alcohol can cause the body temperature to drop, so it's important to keep the baby warm.
4. Monitor the baby's breathing and heart rate. If the baby's breathing or heart rate slows down, or if the baby becomes unconscious, call 911 immediately.
