Feeding Newborns: What Do Babies Eat Before Milk?
Babies receive all the necessary nutrition they need from the mother's body when they are in the womb, and do not require any additional food or drink.
Immediately after birth, babies exclusively consume colostrum, which is the first milk produced by the mother's breasts. Colostrum is specifically designed to provide the baby with the ideal balance of nutrients, antibodies, and other essential components needed for healthy development and immune system support. It is rich in protein, low in sugar, and contains high levels of antibodies, white blood cells, and fat-soluble vitamins.
