How to Clear Up Baby Acne
Baby acne is a very common thing, but it can be frustrating if you are the parent of an acne-prone baby. Though there aren't many treatments for babies that have acne, there are some ones to help prevent serious acne breakouts.
Instructions
Wash your baby's face as needed. Over washing the baby's face can cause irritation. Irritation leads to dryness and increased break outs.
Use non-oily lotions on a baby's face. Some children have naturally oily skins or are more prone to breakouts when oil-based products are placed on their faces. Try applying a facial lotion that is hypoallergenic. Avoid baby oils on the acne-prone areas.
Go to the doctor. If you notice that the breakout areas are extremely bothersome to your little one, take him to the doctor. The doctor may be able to give your baby a cream to help stop the irritation. Medication is usually prescribed as a last resort if the acne does not clear up within three months.
Let his face breathe. This means allow the face to be exposed to open air. Covering up the face and allowing it to become over heated may cause irritation and further breakouts.
