How to Use a Scale to Weigh Yourself
For many, weighing themselves becomes an obsession--especially when dieting. A person will get on the scale several times a day, wanting to see a decrease in weight and ending up disappointed when he doesn't see the desired results. But there's a right and wrong way to measure your weight. Stick to the following routine each time you use a scale in order to provide greater consistency and accuracy.
Instructions
Plan to weigh yourself in the morning, right after you wake up and use the restroom. Wear minimal, light clothing to avoid distorted results.
Place the scale on a flat, hard surface, such as a floor without carpeting.
Plant both feet firmly, parallel to each other, on the scale.
Stand still without shifting your weight until the arrow stops moving. The number at which the arrow stabilizes is your weight measurement.
