Effective Home Workout: Lose Weight Without a Gym
For those who can't stand going to the gym, there are ways to lose weight at home. It takes a bit of dedication, discipline and some equipment.Things You'll Need
- Running shoes
- Treadmill
- Weights
- TV
- Exercise DVDs
- Exercise mat
Instructions
Run. Running is an inexpensive way to get in shape. All you need is running shoes. If you're a beginner, start slowly and increase your time and distance gradually. Do this three to five times a week, depending on your fitness level. Plan routes around your neighborhood. If you would rather run inside, use a treadmill.
Stay active throughout the day. Research shows that people who are active all the time can be in better shape than those who are only active when they're in the gym. Park farther from your house so you can walk more. Use the stairs often. Do crunches while you watch TV. It all adds up!
Eat. Crash dieting can do wonders quickly, but it is not a sustainable method. Many crash dieters regain the weight they lost and then some. You can, however, eat smaller portions more frequently throughout the day. This keeps your metabolism going. And when you exercise, you get hungry faster.
