Glider Workout: Effective Low-Impact Exercise for Weight Loss & Joint Health
A glider is a piece of home exercise equipment. One type of glider is the one offered by Tony Little as an infomercial product. It is similar to an elliptical machine in that the feet move in a manner that is similar to skiing. There are two poles on it as well, which simulates skiing. It is ideal to lose weight on a glider if you have joint or knee issues. It is a low-impact piece of equipment.Things You'll Need
- Glider
Instructions
Warm-up for five minutes on the Glider. This means to get moving on it at a moderate pace and not breaking a sweat. This just gets your body ready for the exercise.
Set the machine for the distance that you wish to go. As you do the workout, there is a setting that will show you the amount of calories burned.
Exercise on the glider by doing intervals. This switches things up and can burn more calories than just steady-state cardio. Work at a moderate pace on the glider. Every five minutes or so, do one minute of faster paced cardio.
Workout on the glider for 60 minutes at at time. Do so for five or six times per week. This will promote weight loss. Work hard enough so that you break a sweat but can still talk.
Mix things up. Exercise at a heavy intensity one day and go lighter the next day. Keep your body guessing.
