How much exercise should you get each day to keep your heart healthy?

According to the American Heart Association, adults should get at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic activity or 75 minutes of vigorous-intensity aerobic activity each week. This can be broken down into smaller increments throughout the day. For example, you can aim for 30 minutes of moderate-intensity activity five days a week or 15 minutes of vigorous-intensity activity three times per week. In addition to aerobic activity, adults should also do muscle-strengthening exercises at least twice a week.
