Endomorph Diet: Nutrition & Meal Planning for Body Shape
The endomorph's diet is based on the assumption that those with an endomorphic body shape have different exercise and nutritional requirements than those with a mesomorph or ectomorph body structure.-
Lean Protein
-
The idea is that endomorphs may find it harder to lose weight due to their stocky body shape and tendency to store fat. Recommendations include high fiber foods, plenty of water and a low-fat diet, with plenty of lean protein.
Complex Carbohydrates
-
Carbohydrates in the form of green vegetables, sweet potatoes, complex carbohydratess, oatmeal and whole grains can be eaten in moderation. Avoiding refined sugar is important along with smaller portions, more frequently, to keep energy levels stable.
No Supporting Evidence
-
While a diet based on complex carbohydrates, vegetables, lean protein and whole grains is generally considered healthy for most people, there is no evidence to suggest this diet suits endomorphs any better than other body shapes and sizes.
