How to Safely Do a Protein Diet
A protein diet is a diet where one consumes a high amount of protein in terms of the protein-fats-carbohydrates energy ratio. It's impossible to eat a pure protein diet, as any food that has protein in it also contains at least a small amount of fat and carbohydrates, and these are necessary for your body to actually digest your protein. You may be interested in a protein diet if you're a bodybuilder, athlete, or looking for a new way to lose weight. There is safety to keep in mind, as a protein diet doesn't mean you can forget about other nutrients your body needs.
Instructions
Eat small, frequent meals every two to three hours.
Eat meats that are lean rather than fatty. This includes lean red meat, chicken and fish.
Eat a small amount of vegetables and fruit along with each meal. These should be your only carbohydrate foods.
Calculate your daily calorie consumption and make sure that about a quarter of them are calories from fat.
Do not drink beverages that contain calories. Water, coffee, and zero-calorie sodas are good; alcoholic drinks and juices contain calories from carbohydrates.
