In many instances, cracked teeth do show up on dental X-rays. However, sometimes they can be difficult to detect, especially if they are small or located between teeth. In some cases, additional imaging, such as a cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) scan, may be necessary to confirm a diagnosis.
