How can one avoid the visit to dentist?
1. Brush and floss your teeth regularly. This is by far the most important step you can take to avoid cavities, which are cavities in the teeth. Brush for at least two minutes, twice a day. Flossing helps to remove plaque and food particles from between your teeth, where your toothbrush can’t reach.
2. Eat a healthy diet. A diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains helps to keep your teeth and gums healthy. Sugary foods and drinks can feed bacteria in your mouth, leading to cavities. Calcium-rich foods are important for maintaining strong teeth.
3. Avoid smoking and tobacco use. Smoking damages your gums and makes you more likely to develop gum disease. Tobacco use also increases your risk of oral cancer.
4. Use mouthwash. Mouthwash can help kill bacteria and freshen your breath. Look for a mouthwash with fluoride, which helps to strengthen teeth and prevent cavities.
5. Avoid sugary drinks. Sugar is food for oral bacteria, which produce acid that can damage teeth. Soft drinks, energy drinks, and sports drinks are all high in sugar. When you drink these beverages, try to rinse your mouth with water afterward to help wash away the sugar.
6. See your dentist regularly. Seeing your dentist for checkups and cleanings is important for maintaining good oral health. Your dentist can identify and treat any problems early on, before they become more serious.
