How to Help Your Teeth After Not Brushing
Practicing proper dental hygiene is an important part of maintaining strong, healthy teeth and gums along with maintaining an eye-catching smile. Unfortunately, when you are on the go, you may not always have access to a toothbrush. As a result, plaque builds up on your teeth, placing you at risk for cavities as well as causing yellowing of the teeth. If you do not have a toothbrush available, you can still help your teeth in other ways.Things You'll Need
- Water
- Mouthwash
- Sugar-free gum
- Disposable toothbrush
Instructions
Rinse your mouth out with cold water if you have had a meal or a sugary snack. Gargle with cold water for 30 seconds. This can help remove the buildup of sugar and food on your teeth without using toothpaste.
Carry a small bottle of mouthwash in your purse or book bag. Rinse your mouth with mouthwash after eating or not having brushed your teeth recently. Mouthwash can help kill germs and freshen your breath.
Chew sugar-free gum. Sugar-free gum can help freshen your breath when you do not have access to a toothbrush.
Carry a disposable toothbrush with you. Many toothpaste companies make small disposable toothbrushes that fit in your purse or backpack without taking up a lot of room. They are designed to be used once and thrown away.
