How to Make Organic Baking Soda Toothpaste
Teeth cleaning is essential to daily hygiene; you want to keep your teeth healthy and free of cavities. Many toothpastes are available nowadays, and each one claims to offer something special, such as extra tooth-whitening or adding strength to the enamel. But it's quite easy to make your own right at home, using baking soda. You only need a few items for this basic recipe. It takes just a few minutes and could save you money.Things You'll Need
- Bowl
- Spoon
- 6 tsp. baking soda
- 1/3 tsp. salt
- 4 tsp. glycerin
- 15 drops peppermint extract (optional)
Instructions
Mix the baking soda and salt together in a bowl. Make sure the two ingredients are thoroughly mixed. Baking soda is a mild abrasive, so it works to remove stains.
Add the glycerin to your mixture. Continue stirring all the ingredients together with your spoon. The glycerin is sticky, so it may take a while to completely mix it in.
Add peppermint extract to give you fresh-smelling breath. This ingredient isn't mandatory, however.
Pour your mixture into a plastic container. It should look like a regular commercial toothpaste and have the same consistency.
