How to Work a Conair Interplak
Dentists recommend water flossers, also known as oral irrigators, to supplement oral hygiene routines. This is especially true for patients with periodontal disease, orthodontic appliances or extensive dental work. Conair offers an oral irrigator called the Interplak Water Jet, a system that uses water to flush out food particles and massage the gums. The handle looks like a regular electric toothbrush, but the interchangeable tips all have different purposes. Both the Microban and WJ7B models have a water reservoir, pressure control dial and an "On/Off" button to control the water flow.
Instructions
Pick up a color-coded attachment tip and push the wide end onto the water jet handle. Use the standard tip for general cleaning, the subgingival tip for cleaning below the gum line and the brush head for dental work such as crowns.
Lift the reservoir off the base, and fill with slightly warm water, up to the white "14 oz." guideline. Place the reservoir back on the base, and then detach the water jet.
Press and hold the "On/Off" button on the front of the handle, turn the power button on and then let go of the "On/Off" button while holding your water jet over the sink. The power button is on the base to the left of the water pressure control dial -- either press it in or turn the knob to the right.
Turn the pressure control dial to the right to increase the water pressure, letting the water flow through to cleanse the unit. For your first use, allow all the water in the reservoir to flow through and then refill it.
Turn the pressure control dial to the first and weakest setting, then press and hold the "On/Off" button to stop the water flow. Position the water jet tip in your mouth, pointing between your teeth.
Lean over the bathroom sink with your mouth slightly open and let go of the "On/Off" button. Direct the water to different places in your mouth by twisting the ring around the base of the attachment tip. Press the power button or turn the power switch to the "Off" position when finished.
