What is recovery time for intercostal drainage?
Recovery time after intercostal drainage (ICD) varies depending on the individual and the severity of their condition. Typically, patients will stay in the hospital for a few days after the procedure to monitor their progress and ensure that the drainage is working properly. After discharge from the hospital, patients may need to continue to use the drainage device at home for a period of time, which can range from a few days to several weeks. During this time, patients may experience some discomfort, such as pain or tightness at the drainage site, and may need to limit their activities to avoid dislodging the drainage tube. Once the drainage tube is removed, patients will typically need to take it easy for a few days to allow the area to heal. Full recovery from ICD typically takes several weeks, although some people may experience lingering discomfort for a longer period of time.Root Canals - Related Articles
