Flossing with a Bridge: A Comprehensive Guide to Maintaining Oral Health
If you don't floss your teeth, you're going to end up paying down the road (financially as well as in terms of physical pain) when infections take hold. If you have bridgework, you need to take special care to clean the gaps between your teeth and your bridge, because that is where food will build up and start eating away at your remaining teeth, placing your dental health at even further risk.Things You'll Need
- Dental floss
- Floss threader
Instructions
Run your dental floss through the open loop at one end of the floss threader. Tie the floss to the loop.
Guide the loop to the space between your teeth and your bridge. Looking in the mirror or working by touch will work. The softer parts of the floss should rest against the gum and the bottom of the bridge, and the stiff part should be between your teeth and the bridge.
Move the threader back and forth so that the stiff floss cleans the area between the bridge and your teeth.
