Aquafresh Toothpaste Ingredients Information

Aquafresh toothpaste first became known for its red, white and blue stripes. As of 2009, there are several kinds of Aquafresh toothpaste, such as Original, Whitening, and Advanced, but there are certain ingredients common to all of them.

Titanium Dioxide

• According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, one of the ingredients in Aquafresh is titanium dioxide. Titanium dioxide is naturally occurring and is used as a food coloring.

Sodium Saccharin

• Sodium saccharin is an artificial sweetener.

Sodium Benzoate

• Sodium benzoate is generally used as a preservative.

PEG-8

• PEG-8 is polyethylene glycol. It's used to prevent the tartar-control chemicals in Aquafresh from breaking down from bacteria.

Sorbitol

• Sorbitol is a sweetener and is known for producing a smooth texture. It's often used in sugar-free candies, baked goods and gum.
