DIY Baking Soda Mouthwash: Natural Whitening & Odor Control
You can make your own mouthwash using baking soda, a natural substance that whitens teeth, kills germs and neutralizes odors. Baking soda is inexpensive, and your homemade mouthwash won't contain alcohol like most commercial mouthwash does. You can make the mouthwash taste better by adding natural flavoring oils, available at grocery stores, spice shops or natural food stores.Things You'll Need
- 1/4 cup baking soda
- 1 cup water
- Plastic container with lid
- 1 tsp. wintergreen, cinnamon, peppermint or tea tree oil (optional)
Instructions
Put 1/4 cup of baking soda and 1 cup of water into a plastic container with a lid. Use less water if you want your mouthwash to have a pastier consistency.
Add 1 tsp. wintergreen, cinnamon, peppermint or tea tree oil to flavor the mouthwash. If you don't want flavoring, you do not have to add any oil.
Close the lid tightly and shake until the ingredients are blended. Shake the container before each use to re-blend the oil and water.
