Swimming During Your Period: Is It Safe & What to Consider
There is no medical reason why a woman should not go in a river during her period. Swimming is a great form of exercise and can help to relieve cramps and other period symptoms, such as fatigue and headaches. However, there are a few things to keep in mind if you do decide to go for a swim while on your period:
- Use a tampon or menstrual cup. This will help to prevent any blood from leaking into the water.
- Wear a dark swimsuit. This will help to hide any stains that may occur.
- Rinse off with fresh water after swimming. This will help to remove any residual blood or bacteria from your body.
- Avoid swimming in water that is contaminated. This could increase your risk of infection.
If you have any concerns about swimming during your period, talk to your doctor.
