Sheet Washing Frequency: Expert Guidelines for Clean & Healthy Sleep
Every week or two:
- If you have allergies or sensitive skin
- If you sweat a lot at night
- If you have pets that sleep in your bed
- If you have young children who may wet the bed
Every three weeks to a month:
- If you don't have any of the above concerns and you don't sleep in your bed every day
Every season:
- To reduce the build-up of dust mites and bacteria
Note: It's also important to wash your sheets in hot water (at least 140 degrees Fahrenheit) and dry them on high heat to kill any lingering bacteria.
