My braces wire fell off and you need it back on for the next appointment. How do put on?
If a wire from your braces falls off, it's important to see your orthodontist as soon as possible. Trying to put the wire back on yourself can be dangerous and may cause further damage to your teeth.
If you're unable to see your orthodontist right away, there are a few things you can do to try to put the wire back on temporarily:
1. Find the end of the wire. The end of the wire will be poking out of the bracket. Be careful not to swallow the wire.
2. Use tweezers to grasp the end of the wire. If you don't have tweezers, you can also use a clean needle or toothpick.
3. Gently push the wire back into the bracket. Be careful not to apply too much pressure, as this could damage your teeth or gums.
4. Use wax to secure the wire in place. Dental wax can be purchased at most drug stores. Roll a small piece of wax into a ball and place it over the end of the wire. This will help to keep the wire from falling out again.
It's important to remember that this is only a temporary solution. You should still see your orthodontist as soon as possible to have the wire replaced properly.
