Bruise Symptoms: When to See a Doctor - Causes & Concerns
You should see a doctor about a bruise if:
- It is larger than 2 inches (5 cm) in diameter
- It is very deep and appears to be filled with blood
- It is located on the face, neck, or genitals
- It is extremely painful
- It does not start healing within a few days
- It becomes hot, swollen, or red
- You develop fever and chills
You should also see a doctor if you are taking blood thinners or have a history of bleeding disorders.
