Fly Healthy: Preventing Viruses & Staying Well on Air Travel
A perfectly good vacation or work trip can easily be ruined by getting sick. Since airplanes are full of people who are gathered in a confined space, it is important to prepare your body, so you don't catch a virus during a flight. There are ways to strengthen your immune system and decrease your chances of catching a virus-related illness.Things You'll Need
- Antibacterial wipes
- Water
Instructions
Keep antibacterial wipes in your carry-on. Antibacterial gel will most likely be taken up when going through security, so it must be in wipe form. Wipe your hands with them after you touch any objects that other touch, like arm rests or windows.
Do not touch your face or mouth while on the plane. This will ensure that germs won't make their way into your mouth.
Point the air vents, located above your head, directly at your face. This creates a barrier that will send germs away from your face.
Get plenty of rest the week before your flight. When you aren't getting enough sleep, your immune system is compromised.
