Norforms and Bacterial Vaginosis (BV): What You Need to Know
It is not advisable to use norforms if you have bacterial vaginosis (BV). BV is a common vaginal infection caused by an overgrowth of bacteria in the vagina. Norforms are a type of vaginal suppository that contains a spermicide, which is used to prevent pregnancy. Spermicides can disrupt the balance of good and bad bacteria in the vagina, which can worsen BV symptoms.
If you have BV, it is important to see your doctor for treatment. Treatment options may include antibiotics, vaginal creams, or suppositories that are specifically designed to treat BV. Using norforms or other spermicides while you have BV can worsen your symptoms and make it more difficult to treat.
