Bird Urinary Systems: Do Birds Have Bladders?

No species of bird possesses a urinary bladder. Instead, birds excrete nitrogenous waste in the form of uric acid through specialized structures called cloacae. The cloaca is a multifunctional chamber that serves as a common outlet for the digestive, urinary, and reproductive systems in both birds and certain other animals, such as reptiles and amphibians.
