Cervastatin (Baycol): Uses, Risks & Withdrawal

Cervastatin, sold under the brand name Baycol, among others, is a synthetic HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor drug which was used to lower bad cholesterol levels in the blood.[2] It was withdrawn from most major markets except China due to serious and fatal rhabdomyolysis associated with its use, the cause of at least 52 deaths
