The adrenal glands are not part of the thyroid. The thyroid gland is a butterfly-shaped gland located in the front of the neck. It is responsible for producing hormones that regulate metabolism, growth, and development. The adrenal glands are two small glands located on top of each kidney. They produce hormones that regulate blood pressure, heart rate, and the body's response to stress.
