Stroke Symptoms: Recognizing and Identifying a Stroke - A Guide
Stroke is a life threatening trauma that must be taken very seriously. Here are some ways you can properly identify if someone has suffered a stroke.

If the patient is suffering from any type of paralysis, a stroke may be responsible. Paralysis commonly occurs on the opposite side of the body that the stroke occured in the brain.
Listen for signs of abnormal speech. The slurring of words can often be a sign that someone has suffered a stroke.
Have the patient hold out both arms straight out for about ten seconds. If the arms move slightly on their own, you can be sure that the patient has suffered a serious stroke or head trauma.
