Solo LX CPAP: Setting the Correct Air Pressure - A Step-by-Step Guide
CPAP, or continuous positive airway pressure, is a therapeutic modality commonly used in the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). With OSA, the patient's airway can close during deep sleep, cutting off her ability to inhale. The Solo LX CPAP device applies pressure to the airway, holding it open. This pressure level, specific to a given patient, is generally set by a home health specialist. Changing the LX's pressure is a matter of applying the correct steps, in order, to the machine's controls.
Instructions
Place the Solo LX device on a readily accessible surface. Plug in the power cord to the wall outlet. Unplug the power cord from the rear of the device.
Hold down the "Pressure" and "Ramp" buttons simultaneously while plugging the power cord back into the rear of the device. Release the buttons.
Read the current pressure setting on the display. Press the "Ramp" button to increase the pressure setting.
Hold down the "On/Off" button when finished and press the "Ramp" button once. Release the "On/Off" button.
