How to Strengthen Throat Muscles
Snoring is a problem that affects many people of all ages. Not only is it disruptive to the people around you, it can also disrupt your sleep as your body is unable to get the oxygen it needs. There are a variety of ways to treat snoring, and one of the best for light snorers is to strengthen and tone your throat muscles. If your throat muscles are strong and toned, they will be able to open your air passages more effectively, thus stopping you from snoring and improving your night's sleep.
Instructions
Place your tongue against your lower row of teeth and push. Don't push particularly hard, but rather at a low, sustained level that you can keep up for up to five minutes.
Hold a pencil between your teeth for five minutes. Again, don't bite too hard, but just hold it there firmly. It should not move in your mouth, but it also should not break into pieces from you biting it.
Press your finger against your chin for a few minutes.
Open and close your mouth in a yawning motion on a regular basis.
Sing regularly. You don't have to sing well, but the action of singing itself is an excellent throat exercise. So, sing along to the radio when you drive, or sing along to the music in the background when you are working on your computer.
