Adjusting CPAP Pressure on Your Respironics REMstar System One: A Step-by-Step Guide
The Respironics REMstar system is used for people who suffer from sleep apnea. The machine provides continuous positive airway pressure, or CPAP, to a person while he is sleeping. The system includes simple controls that allow the user to change the air pressure during the night. Before you go to sleep using the machine, adjust the pressure to a level that is comfortable for you to handle throughout the night.
Instructions
Press the "Pressure On/Off" button on your Respironics REMstar sleep apnea system.
Connect the circuit. Make sure your headgear is fully connected. Put on the apnea mask and breathe normally.
Lie down in your bed. Move the tubing to adjust the appropriate airflow before adjusting the pressure.
Press the "Ramp" button on the top of your REMstar system. Every time you press the button, the pressure is lowered.
Press the button below the "1+" option to lower or raise the minimum ramp pressure. Press the "Yes" button to confirm your selection.
