Can you wear a scopolamine patch while sleep?
Scopolamine patches are used to prevent nausea and vomiting caused by motion sickness. This is done by placing the patch behind your ear behind the ear at least four hours before travel, and it can remain in place for up to three days. Do not apply a new patch until at least 72 hours (3 days) after removing your previous patch. It can be worn continuously so that you can continue your activities without having to think about taking frequent doses.
The patch should not be used during sleep. If you are planning to sleep, Scopolamine Transdermal Patch should be removed before going to bed. To remove the patch, gently lift one edge and slowly peel it off. Fold the patch with the sticky sides together, and flush it down the toilet. Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water.
The scopolamine patch should be used only as directed by your doctor and should not be used for longer than three days in a row. If your nausea or vomiting does not improve after three days, you should contact your doctor.
