BiPAP Machine Guide: Operation, Benefits & Setup
A bilevel positive airway pressure -- BiPAP -- machine is a device commonly prescribed for relief of sleep apnea, or disorders in which the patient exhibits low breathing rates -- or even a pause in breathing -- while asleep. A BiPAP machine modifies airway pressure when it is used, assisting users in keeping their airways open while they are asleep. There are a number of brands and styles of BiPAP machines, but most contain some sort of humidifier tank and power supply that need to be set up before use.
