Is it possible not to know if you were asleep or not?
It is possible to be in a state of confusion or disorientation when waking up and temporarily not know whether you were asleep or not. This can occur due to several factors, such as waking up during a deep sleep cycle, sleep inertia, certain sleep disorders, or external disturbances that disrupt the transition between sleep and wakefulness.
However, in general, a fully conscious person can usually distinguish between being asleep and awake.
