Orajel Directions
Orajel is a trademarked name for a benzocaine topical anesthetic used to numb the skin. Despite the name, Orajel is appropriate for use in and out of the mouth, and is intended to relieve mild pain caused by sunburn, teething, hemorrhoids and other irritations. As overdose may cause serious side effects; it is important to carefully follow instructions on your Orajel package.
Instructions
Clean the affected area with soap and water before using Orajel. If using it in the mouth, brush your teeth first.
Rub a thin layer of the medication to the affected area. If necessary, apply Orajel up to four times a day. If treating hemorrhoids, apply Orajel up to six times a day. Apply Orajel only to surface skin, inside the mouth in small amounts or just inside the rectum or vagina.
Hold spray Orajel 6 to 12 inches away from the affected area before spraying. If applying to your face, spray the medication onto your hands before rubbing it on your face.
