Fixing Cracked & Peeling Fingernails: Causes & Treatments
Cracked and peeling fingernails can be a problem. They can snag clothing or get caught on things and cause pain. This problem stems from cells that grow in a slanted direction. When the fingernail is hit, it snags and the cells split, causing the top layer to peel up. With a few beauty techniques, you can fix this problem and prevent it from happening in the future.
Instructions
Trim your nails with a clipper.
Using a buffer, move vertically from the cuticle to the tip of your nail to create a smooth surface.
Rub cuticle oil on to your cuticles and nails after bathing to keep the nail and nail bed hydrated. Rub lotion containing alpha hydroxy acids on your hands to hold the moisture in.
