Back Sweat Rash: Causes, Symptoms & Effective Treatments
Sweat rash spots are basically a form of heat rash known as miliaria. In many cases, several at-home remedies can relieve the blisters and itchiness of heat rash.-
Symptoms
-
Small clear blisters and bumps are prime indicators of heat rash, with an itching or prickly feeling usually accompanying it.
Causes
-
Undeveloped sweat glands in infants, tropical climates, intense exercise, fabrics that don't breathe, certain prescription medications and bacteria such as staphylococcus are all contributing factors of heat rash.
Medical Attention
-
If signs of infection appear, such as increased pain, swelling or pus draining from lesions, or if there are fever or chills, consult a doctor. Likewise, if rashes last more than three or four days it could be an indication of a larger problem.
Treatment
-
Reduce sweating by staying in an air-conditioned room, wearing breathable fabrics and limiting exercise, as the rash typically clears up quickly when skin cools. Treatments include calamine lotion, anhydrous lanolin and topical steroids.
Prevention
-
Allowing skin to breathe freely, keeping temperatures cool and avoiding constricting clothing are good preventive measures. Keep sleeping areas cool and bathe in cool water with non-drying soap.
