Doctors cannot tell parents whether someone has engaged in sexual activity because there is no definitive physical sign that confirms if the hymen has been ruptured/torn/broken or stretched (commonly referred to as "popping a cherry). The hymen can break due to vigorous exercise or tampon use as well.
