Tetany Treatment: Understanding Causes and Management
The treatment of tetany depends on its underlying cause. Intravenous calcium is usually the treatment of choice. For hypomagnesemia-induced tetany, slow administration of magnesium sulfate is required. Potassium and chloride deficiencies should also be corrected if these ions are low.
