Advanced Silicosis: Symptoms, Risks & Treatment
Advanced silicosis is characterized by severe shortness of breath, chest pain, and coughing up black sputum. Other symptoms include:
- Weight loss
- Fatigue
- Weakness
- Loss of appetite
- Night sweats
- Fever
- Clubbing of the fingers
- Cyanosis (bluish discoloration of the skin)
- Cor pulmonale (right-sided heart failure)
- Respiratory failure
Advanced silicosis can be fatal if not treated promptly.
