Mumps After MMR Vaccine: Understanding Risk & Protection
The MMR vaccine is very effective at preventing mumps, but it is not 100% effective. This means that it is still possible to get mumps even if you have been vaccinated. However, the risk of getting mumps is much lower if you have been vaccinated.
If you do get mumps after you have been vaccinated, your symptoms may be milder and you may be less likely to develop complications.
The MMR vaccine is the best way to protect yourself from mumps. If you have not been vaccinated, or if you are not sure if you have been vaccinated, talk to your doctor.
