Healthy Weight Ranges for 12-Year-Olds: CDC Guidelines
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has developed growth charts that can be used to determine if a child is overweight or obese. According to the CDC, a 12-year-old boy who is 5 feet tall should weigh between 75 and 115 pounds. A 12-year-old girl who is 5 feet tall should weigh between 75 and 110 pounds. If a child's weight is above the 95th percentile on the CDC growth chart, they are considered to be obese.
