How to Accurately Measure for a Topcoat: A Step-by-Step Guide
Chest
- Measure around the fullest part of the chest, with the tape measure passing under the armpits and around the shoulder blades.
- Ensure that the tape measure is snug, but not too tight.
Sleeves
- Bend your arm slightly at the elbow, with your palm facing toward your chest.
- Measure from the base of the sleeve to the cuff, running the tape measure along the top of your arm.
Length
- Stand up straight and relaxed.
- Measure from the base of the collar to the desired hem length.
Back
- Measure the length down your spine from between the shoulder blades to where the topcoat will end.
Once you have taken these measurements, you can compare them to a size chart provided by the topcoat manufacturer to find the best fit.
